Confused?!?!
Ok, Casey is telling me that it's OK to use sparknotes and other sources of assistance to help with the comprehension of Dr. Zhivago. I am in a state of confusion that (almost) rivals that of when we read A Tale of Two Cities. I can't focus at all! Is her claim accurate? It would be of great help if it is, if not, is there any other strategy that anyone can recommend for understanding what the heck is going on? It seems like a bunch of disjointed events so far, and this is like and ADHD nightmare haha. Thank you (anyone) for any help. Elias.

Well, I am not sure about the assignments, but for the quizzes, it says using outside sources is okay, because it is about learning, not what you learned... I am still confused about the assignments though, sorry.
ReplyDeleteI don't use sparknotes to help me with Doctor Zhivago, but if you're up for the challenge (or extremely desperate), I would recommend doing a RRJ set up. It helps me organize my thoughts and draw conclusions in a seemingly helpless mess of events. But again, I know how much of a pain it can be at times.
ReplyDelete♥SparkNotes♥
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, SparkNotes are a perfectly okay supplement to the book. Don't rely on it exclusively--partly because you need to know the detail that SparkNotes skips over, plus, ya know, you'll kinda be missing all the good things about reading the book. Let SparkNotes bring the book into focus, but don't let it become the only thing you're looking at.
Also, I think Maria has a great idea. Especially for organizing all the little interrelated story pieces, finding a good organization tool or graphic organizer can be super beneficial. Awesome idea, Maria!
