State Competition

State competition is fast approaching.  I would suggest the following:
1. Speech competition will be online--let's do it this Friday, 3/1 right after school.  It will only take a few minutes, just long enough to login to the computer and record your speech, so if you have other activities, perhaps you can be just a couple of minutes late.
2. Subject tests-let's do them Monday from after school until about 7pm.
Let me know if you have any issues/feedback.
PRACTICE tomorrow (Tues. 2/26) BRING YOUR SPEECH!!!!!!

Assignment: 11/26/12

Think about and discuss in a comment the following questions about Dr. Zhivago:

1.What is this book really about?
2.What is love in this novel?
3.Whom does Yuri love the most? Tanya? Lara? Marina?
4.How does the political/historical landscape interweave with the story?
5.If we assume that Yuri is the protagonist of this novel, is there an antagonist?
6.Dr. Zhivago was refused publication in the USSR and Boris Pasternak had to refuse his Nobel prize in literature for it because of political pressure.  Why?
